Stillbloom Studio
Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 8 October 2026
Stillbloom Studio wants every child and every grown-up to be able to enjoy Shiver's story, including people with disabilities. We built the website with accessibility in mind and keep improving it.
Standard
The website aims to meet Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, at level AA, as required by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013. Where practical, we also follow WCAG 2.1.
What we have done
- A clear heading structure, page landmarks and a "Skip to content" link on every page.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- Read it to me: the whole story, or any single page, can be read aloud, and each word is highlighted as it is spoken.
- Bigger words: one button makes the story text larger.
- The story is written in a font designed for easy reading, with large text and generous line spacing.
- Every story picture has a text description, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- A Pause animations button at the top of the page stops the moving effects, including the snow, the northern lights and Shiver's icy breath. The setting is remembered on your device.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off automatically.
- No content flashes more than three times per second.
- Text and background colors have sufficient contrast, and the layout adapts to phones, tablets and computers, with text that can be enlarged up to 200%.
Known limitations
- The coloring corner fills shapes chosen with a mouse or touch, so choosing a single shape is not possible with a keyboard alone. Keyboard users can choose a page and use the "Magic Ice" button, which colors the whole page.
- The 3D Shiver is decorative; everything he "says" is also on the page as text.
- Read it to me uses the voices available on your device, so how it sounds depends on your browser. Word highlighting works in browsers that report word positions while speaking.
- The free printable page is a PDF line drawing for printing, with no text.
If anything is hard to use, please tell us and we will help, including by sending the story or a page another way.
How we checked
The website was reviewed on 8 October 2026 using keyboard navigation and automated checks of structure, alternative text, form labels and color contrast, in a current Chromium-based browser at desktop and mobile sizes.
